N this article we examine the relationship between education and income in-equality in the United States. We address two main questions. First how much of US income inequality can be attributed to education and, in particular, how important, as a cause of contemporary inequality, is the gap in income between. In addition to wages they also take into account income from investments and self-employment. Whilst investment income tends to make up a larger share of the total income of rich individuals in general, the authors found this to be particularly marked in the case of women in top income groups.
